About us
Rising Starz Whangarei is a Performing Arts Trust run by a team of dedicated volunteers in order to encourage the young people of Whangarei and the surrounding areas to participate in a variety of shows.
Our aim is to give the young people of Northland the opportunity to be part of a theatre group and perform in two shows each year.
Rising Starz is based in Whangarei so if you are aged 8-18 and have a passion for performing, why not get in touch and come and audition for one of our productions.
Rehearsals and performances take place at Whangarei Theatre Company's Riverbank Theatre.
Our Team
Kirsten Parker van Eck
Kirsten has been part of Rising Starz for a few years now and has previously directed several shows. She is a talented actress in her own right, winning a NAPTA for her part in Whangarei Theatre Company's production of Dangerous Liaisons.
Camilla Harmston
Camilla took on the role of Secretary for the Trust in 2017 and was Production Manager for Rising Starz' production of Beauty and the Beast Jr. She runs the Rizing Starz website and facebook page.
Debi Walters-Brown
Debi has been involved in theatre for many years and we are very lucky to have her join Rising Starz to direct Bugsy Malone.
